TheMeasuringStick
Dear Parents,
Thank you for testing with TheMeasuringStick. The interpretation of scores is based on information contained in the G.E.D. Exam Book, printed by Prentice Hall, the 13th edition.
The overall score shown at the top of the list of scores on your student's test results indicates the level your student is capable of performing generally. Each of the scores in the specific subjects listed determines what grade level has been achieved in those areas, thus you can see each area of strength and weakness.
If your child has scored 60% or greater in each of the 28 categories of the HSGED test, he or she is almost ready to take an accredited, proctored GED test. The only thing he or she needs to work on is the essay part of the GED test.
If your child has scored 80% or higher in each subject on the Senior Elementary Test, he or she is probably ready to take the higher level Diagnostic Exam next time (HSGED Test). However, if you want to continue to compare scores from the same type of test throughout the year, you may request Senior Elementary Test B. In 90 days you can then request Senior Elementary Test C.
If your child has scored 80% or higher in each subject on the Junior Elementary Test, he or she is probably ready to take the Senior Elementary Test next time. However, if you want to continue to compare scores from the same type of test throughout the year, you may request Junior Elementary Test B. In 90 days you can then request Junior Elementary Test C.
We suggest that you file these items so that you can refer back to them each time your student is tested, and compare scores and learning skills.
You may want to consider testing in another 90 days to track progress in areas where weaknesses need to be strengthened. According to professional research, students who are tested once or twice during the school year, instead of just once at year-end, can progress faster. Obviously, students' learning development can thus be monitored much more efficiently.
We hope this testing has been a positive and helpful experience for you and your student. Let us know if we can be of further assistance to you in the education of your family.
Sincerely,
Craig & Larene Spitler
